Founded over 30 years ago, the Stamford Jr. Wrestling Club (“SJWC”) is a 501(c)(3) organization in Stamford, CT that is dedicated to providing high quality Folkstyle and Freestyle instruction to elementary (K-5th grade) and middle school youth (6th-8th grade) in lower Fairfield County. This is the Warrior Wrestling Program.

It is one of the largest and most successful clubs in the state and has a dedicated and experienced coaching staff. A coaching staff that loves the sport of Wrestling and all that it can do for young men and women. We are dedicated to the development of the athlete on and off the mat.

The Warrior Wrestling Program manages 30-60 wrestlers between the ages of 6 to 14 and has a rich winning history of developing Champions. Over the years, the club has produced multiple State Champions, New England Champions, and several New England placers, as well as, a Freestyle All-American.

Our motto is “Champions are Formed, not Born” and this motto epitomizes the focus and mission of the Club. We help these young wrestlers develop into well-rounded young people, by focusing on building character through the practice of wrestling which provides an opportunity for these young athletes to find their integrity. By practicing and competing, the Wrestler learns the meaning of commitment, resiliency, and humility. We instill a “Never, never, never give up!” mentality and encourage jumping back into the fold, especially when you have experienced disappointment. Plus, we have fun, evident by the smiles, laughter, and growing number of wrestlers joining our Team!

2023 - 2024 WRESTLING SEASON Program Fees

FULL SEASON - $375.00
November 14, 2023 to March 14, 2023

Includes the following:

• Full Season Registration Fee – $375 per wrestler
• Additional gear can be found on the Apparel Page at a separate cost.
• USA Wrestling Card Fee – $46 per wrestler (one-time mandatory annual fee covering the period from Sept. 1, 2023 thru Aug. 31, 2024). This is a separate cost, let Coach Barry know if you would like help with ordering the USA Wrestling card. All athletes are required to purchase a card to participate.

HALF SEASON - $300.00
January 2, 2024 to March 14, 2024

Includes the following:

• Half Season Registration Fee – $300 per wrestler
• Additional gear can be found on our Apparel Page as a separate cost.
• USA Wrestling Card Fee – $46 per wrestler (one-time mandatory annual fee covering the period from Sept. 1, 2023 thru Aug. 31, 2024.  This is a separate cost, let Coach Barry know if you would like help with ordering the USA Wrestling card. All athletes are required to purchase a card to participate.

Please note – we offer financial assistance to those in need. If your child is on the free or reduced lunch program offered by the school district your total registration fee gets reduced to $75. Please register and pay online and follow the instructions for applying for a scholarship. Proof of eligibility in the free or reduced program is required.
